Ankle and Foot Injuries in Oregon

Common Foot and Ankle Injuries Covered by Workers’ Compensation

Bone fractures in the foot. A common scenario us one in which something heavy falls and hits the worker’s foot, breaking several bones and causing significant foot pain. Sometimes the doctor will be required to build up the bone, putting it in its correct alignment and adding plates and screws as needed. The doctor may put a restriction on standing and amount of weight that the worker can lift.

Ligament tears to the ankle. Another common injury, ligament tears usually happen when you twist your joint suddenly and unexpectedly. You probably know this injury by another name: sprain. Sprains are classified by degree, and some cause more foot and heel pain than others. Doctors usually recommend staying off the injured foot for a while until the ligament has a chance to mend itself.
